Overview

Hunt Clock ("the Extension") is a Chrome extension that replaces the new tab page with hunting season countdown timers and information. This policy explains what data the Extension handles and how.

Information We Handle

Local Storage Data

The Extension stores the following only on your device (via the browser's local storage). It is never transmitted to us or any server:

• Your selected state and county
• Custom hunting seasons you create
• Your display name (optional)
• Your to-do list items
• Dashboard layout customizations
• Interface preferences

Geolocation Data (Optional)

If you tap "Auto-Detect My Location," the Extension reads your device coordinates and sends them in a single request to the OpenStreetMap Nominatim API to determine your county. These coordinates are:

• Used only to identify your county
• Never stored by the Extension
• Requested only when you explicitly tap the button

Email Address (Optional Signup)

If you choose to sign up for "Season Alerts," the email address you enter is submitted through Google Forms and stored in a private Google Sheet we control, so we can email you occasional hunting-season reminders and Hunt Clock updates. This is:

• Entirely optional — the Extension works fully without it
• Only submitted when you enter your email, check the consent box, and press Subscribe
• Used only to send you the emails described above
• Never sold or shared for advertising

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or request removal by contacting us at the address below.

How We Use Your Information

Solely to display relevant hunting season information, remember your preferences between sessions, and personalize your countdown timers.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data, share it for marketing, track your browsing, or collect analytics. External services are limited to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim API (only when you auto-detect your location), Google Fonts (to load the display font), and Google Forms/Sheets (only if you opt in to Season Alerts). Aside from an email you submit for Season Alerts, no data leaves your device.

Third-Party Services

• OpenStreetMap Nominatim API — reverse geocoding when you opt in to auto-detect. Their privacy policy.
• Google Fonts — the Extension loads the Poppins font from Google Fonts. Google's privacy policy.
• Google Forms / Google Sheets — used only if you opt in to Season Alerts, to receive and store the email address you submit. Google's privacy policy.

Your Rights

• Clear all stored data by removing the Extension
• Deny location permission at any time
• Select your location manually instead of using auto-detect

Children's Privacy

This Extension does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time; changes are reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
